Next on our list is the fairy-tale wedding of Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch. Model and television presenter Abbey married the England footballer earlier this year in a beautiful Leicestershire church. The on-off couple have been dating since 2006, and became engaged in 2009 after Peter popped the question with a glitzy ring rumoured to have cost £200,000.
However, in the following months this ring was frequently absent from the future bride’s finger, and their rocky engagement was coloured with rumours of affairs and break-ups. Abbey and Peter clearly put aside their differences in March after the birth of their first daughter, Sophia, and the happy couple went on to enjoy a stunning wedding.
The couple tied the knot at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, situated in the expansive grounds of Stapleford Park hotel. In a refreshing move, they decided not to sell pictures of their big day in a magazine deal. Instead, the newlyweds happily posed for photographers shortly after saying ‘I do’. These photographs showcase Abbey’s beautiful couture gown. Designed by Giles Deacon, the strapless dress featured a figure-enhancing white lace corset and flowing tiered skirt. Dramatic smoky eyes and deep red nail varnish completed the glamorous look. And, although the couple banned guests from taking photographs in the ceremony, rumour has it that the wedding rings were delivered by two falcons!!
